Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) and the Gulf Downstream Association (GDA) have signed a partnership agreement to host three consecutive editions of the biennial International Downstream Conference and Exhibition (IDCE), reinforcing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as a leading destination for business tourism and specialised international events.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Sara Ahmed Buhiji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and Chairperson of Exhibition World Bahrain, and Bassam Al Bokhari, Secretary General of the Gulf Downstream Association.

On this occasion, Sara Ahmed Buhiji stated: “This strategic partnership represents an important milestone in strengthening Bahrain’s position on the global meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) map. It also reflects the growing international confidence in Exhibition World Bahrain’s advanced infrastructure, world-class facilities, and integrated services, which enable us to successfully host leading specialised international events. At BTEA, we remain committed to strengthening strategic partnerships and attracting more high-quality international events that contribute to Bahrain’s economic and tourism growth, while supporting the objectives of the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026.”

Mr Bassam Al Bokhari said, “We are proud to continue our partnership with Exhibition World Bahrain, which has consistently demonstrated its ability to provide a world-class environment for hosting the International Downstream Conference and Exhibition.”

He added: “This agreement marks another important milestone in our collaboration, enabling us to further develop the event and strengthen its position as a leading platform that brings together industry leaders, experts, and global companies. It will continue to support collaboration, knowledge exchange and innovation, contributing to the future growth of the downstream refining and petrochemicals industry.”

The agreement builds on the successful partnership between Exhibition World Bahrain and the Gulf Downstream Association following the success of previous editions of the International Downstream Conference and Exhibition (IDCE) hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain. It reflects the mutual confidence between both organisations and supports EWB’s long-term strategy of establishing enduring partnerships with regional and international event organisers. The agreement will further contribute to attracting more specialised international events, supporting Bahrain’s business events sector, and reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a leading regional hub for international conferences and exhibitions.
