In the autumn, the Prague Congress Centre (PCC) will introduce the most advanced sound system in the Czech Republic in its main Congress Hall. Alongside the new sound system, PCC will also bring modernised theatre and stage technology into operation, investing a total of over CZK 120 million in its technical facilities this year.
The Prague Congress Centre (PCC) is investing over CZK 120 million this year in stage and theatre technology and state-of-the-art sound. “Our most significant investment is, of course, the construction of the new Exhibition Hall. However, our investments in high-quality theatre technology and sound are equally important. The Prague Congress Centre is once again becoming a venue equipped with cutting-edge technology, enabling us to bring world-class productions to Prague and offer visitors an extraordinary cultural experience,” explains PCC CEO Lenka Žlebková.
The most significant upgrade this year is the new sound system in the main Congress Hall, with a capacity of 2,764 seats. PCC is the first venue in the Czech Republic to install the state-of-the-art L-Acoustics L2 sound system. “This will place us among the world’s leading venues in terms of live sound quality and flexibility. This type of sound system is used on tour by some of the world’s biggest pop stars, as it delivers consistently powerful and clear sound to every audience member, regardless of where they are seated,” adds Pavel Habarta, Member of the Board of Directors responsible for Technical Operations.
The new sound system also offers a range of modular extensions enabling various effects, simulations and spatial acoustic adjustments. “Audiences will enjoy an experience that is unparalleled in the Czech Republic in a venue of this size,” adds Pavel Habarta.
The entire installation is already technically prepared for an immediate upgrade to L-ISA technology. L-ISA can create immersive 3D sound that follows the artist’s position across the stage, while also providing a highly realistic spatial audio experience when viewing content on a screen or LED wall. PCC can thus offer this tailored extension for specific shows and take the audience experience to an entirely new level.
The new system delivers unprecedented power and sound clarity while being almost one-third smaller and lighter than is typical for systems in its class. Thanks to this exceptional compactness, the loudspeakers can be suspended above the stage, leaving more space and flexibility for large-scale stage productions.
Alongside the new sound system, the theatre and stage technology is also undergoing a major transformation this year. This includes replacing the point hoists and the entire control system in the two largest halls, as well as converting from hydraulic to electromechanical drives. These upgrades will improve reliability and safety, reduce operating costs, and deliver significant energy savings. At the same time, the point hoists’ load capacity has been increased from 300 to 500 kilograms. The theatre and stage technology in the two largest halls will also benefit from simpler, more modern controls and a range of new features.
PCC celebrates its 45th anniversary in excellent shape and enters its anniversary year with record financial results. In 2025, it generated revenues of CZK 717.2 million, EBITDA of CZK 234 million and a net profit of CZK 138.9 million. The venue hosted 185 events attended by more than 210,000 visitors. Today, PCC manages a complex covering more than 207,000 m², comprising the Prague Congress Centre itself, Business Centre Vyšehrad and Holiday Inn Prague.
In June 2026, PCC began construction of its new 5,000 m² Exhibition Hall, which will further strengthen Prague’s position as a leading international destination for major events. The new hall is scheduled for completion in autumn 2028. More information at www.praguecc.cz.
