Karin Segers will join the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre team as the Director of Conventions on May 1st. She will follow in the footsteps of Mirjam van de Kamp, who will depart on July 1st for a personal adventure.
Segers is a highly experienced MICE professional with experience of leading a similar team. She is currently the segment leader for meetings, incentives, conferences, and events at 35 NH hotels in the Netherlands. With her extensive experience in the MICE world, she is sure to be a real asset to the Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre. In her new role, she will be responsible for further establishing brand awareness for the Convention Centre, both nationally and internationally, and will lead the team of sales managers. Together with the team, she is also responsible for recognising clients’ needs and guaranteeing excellent execution.
“I’m thrilled to embark on this exciting journey at Rotterdam Ahoy Convention Centre, where my hometown pride meets professional passion. I’m excited to collaborate with the dynamic team, connect with customers, and participate in the wonderful Rotterdam community. I can’t wait to continue to expand the fantastic base that Mirjam has built with the team,” says Karin Segers, as she succeeds Mirjam van de Kamp, who plans to travel with her family indefinitely, starting this summer.
Mirjam Van de Kamp: “With a heavy heart, I will be leaving Rotterdam Ahoy this summer, but for a special reason – we are embarking on a journey with our family, sailing towards sunny destinations to give our lives a different meaning for an indefinite period. We do plan to return, but the timing remains uncertain. Whether this also signifies my return to Rotterdam Ahoy or if I might remotely stay connected is not determined, but if the opportunity arises, it could very well happen. Working is not the reason for my departure, especially because I genuinely feel at home within the organisation. I am happy to see Karin continuing what we have started, and I am convinced she will succeed.”
