Skåne is strongly associated with rapeseed fields, orchards, asparagus, potato delicacies, outdoor pigs, turkeys, free-range hens and Österlen herbs – all locally sourced. The vineyards are getting glowing reviews from leading wine experts. Köpingsbergs vineyard is the world’s northernmost vineyard producing sparkling wine. Drive two kilometers inland from Sandhammaren to find Österlenvin in the tiny village of Ekesåkra, and Skillinge vineyard produces Croix Fleurie.
All these wines can be bought at local liquor stores. They are also served at many of Österlen’s restaurants.
