Hedvig Bäckström at Uppsala Convention Bureau, Destination Uppsala, has been awarded ICCA Researcher of the Year, this year’s top ICCA Data Provider, by International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) for well-executed research and reporting of international meetings.
Awards for well-executed research and documentation of international meetings continue to be awarded to Uppsala Convention Bureau, whose purpose is to develop the meeting industry in Uppsala. This is the third time employees at Uppsala Convention Bureau have received this award.
“The database is an excellent tool available for all ICCA members to search for potential meetings. We are proud to win the researcher of the year award for the third time. We work hard with our statistics and recruitment of new international congresses. This award is an excellent confirmation for all of us. By actively looking into the movement and decision-making of congresses worldwide, we have gained a greater knowledge on regional differences and stated that the ‘new normal’ is actually very much like the ‘old normal’”, says Anna Lindström, Uppsala Convention Bureau.
The 2021 ICCA Ranking shows that Uppsala is a strong convention destination on the international market. Uppsala has the most international meetings in Sweden, after Stockholm and Gothenburg.
The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) is the global community and knowledge hub for the international association meetings industry.
