The year starts very well for Stockholmsmässan, the largest meeting place in Scandinavia, with an almost fully booked event calendar featuring over 90 scheduled events and more than 800,000 Swedish and international visitors expected to pass through the venue’s entrances. Additionally, 2024 marks Stockholmsmässan’s best congress year, with several medical congresses and a world congress on forestry research planned. That shows Stockholm’s position as an attractive congress city.
In 2024, Stockholmsmässan is expected to have its best congress year ever, hosting several major international congresses and attracting tens of thousands of visitors. Among the congresses are ECCO, a world-leading congress in gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy and gastrointestinal surgery, ECE, the European Congress on Endocrinology, ERA, Europe’s largest congress in the field of Nephrology, IUFRO, the world’s largest congress on research and development in forestry science, ASRS, an annual meeting on retinal science, and BIO-Europe, Europe’s most important meeting place for investments in biotech and pharma.
“We are very excited about our bookings for 2024, and as it looks now, we will have our best congress year ever. The fact that international congress organisers choose Stockholm and Stockholmsmässan as their meeting place is important for us, it is one of the cornerstones of the tourism industry and the Stockholm brand. It also shows Stockholm’s position as an attractive congress city,” says Anna-Karin Werner, Director of Congresses and Guest Events at Stockholmsmässan.
Stockholmsmässan has 80 years of experience creating various meetings and events, but according to Christian Clemens, CEO of Stockholmsmässan, the personal meeting has never been more important.
“In a time characterised by rapid technological development and significant shifts in values, personal meetings play an increasingly important role as a positive force for change. Meeting in person becomes increasingly crucial, and at Stockholmsmässan, we want to be an accelerator where our role is to collaborate, drive, and connect companies, organisations, and people to propel society forward”, Christian Clemens says.
