More good news for the congress and exhibition metropolis of Hamburg: from June 9 to 11, 2023 the annual congress of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) will take place at the new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg in a hybrid format. This is the first time the medical congress-plus-exhibition will be hosted in Hamburg. Approximately 8,000 participants from around the world are expected onsite and online.

Working hand-in-hand, the Hamburg Convention Bureau and the CCH – Congress Center Hamburg team succeeded in securing EAACI’s decision of holding its Annual Congress 2023 in Hamburg.

Occurring annually, the EAACI Congress is the world’s largest professional gathering focused on allergy and clinical immunology, and offers a wide selection of sessions, including interactive formats, and educational opportunities. In early July 2022, the EAACI Congress in Prague was held in a successful hybrid format.

The motto of the congress is: “Pathways from precision medicine to personalized care,” focusing on delivering healthcare solutions which are individually tailored to improve patients’ lives. Delegates attending the congress at the CCH will hear from top specialists in the world who will share their knowledge, experience, and their most recent innovations in precision medicine, food allergy, allergen immunotherapy, biologicals, immune modulators, prevention of allergic diseases, novel treatment in allergy and asthma, planetary health and more.

“The EAACI Annual Congress holds its place as the largest and most important in our field in terms of delegate and abstract numbers. This year we are ready to host it in a fantastic and easily accessible venue – the Congress Centre Hamburg – which will accommodate all of our needs. We encourage you to secure your participation, your attendance is what makes our Annual Congress international, vibrant, scientifically rich, and a success every time,” says Stefano Del Giacco, EAACI President.

“We are looking forward to the EAACI Annual Congress 2023 being hosted at the CCH: a modern and unique center which will be the perfect backdrop to the great science being discussed this year! 120 scientific sessions along with practical workshops and networking opportunities will unfold over the course of 3 days in Hamburg – a city with an important history as a hub for trade, that we have identified as the most appropriate setting for knowledge-sharing in our own trade: the field of allergy and clinical immunology,” says Mohamed Shamji, EAACI Vice-President Congresses.

Minister for Science and Research Katharina Fegebank: “It is hard to imagine Hamburg without its medical conventions. They support the highly important exchange of views and expertise between scientists and physicians from around the world, driving scientific progress and knowledge transfer, both locally and internationally. It is precisely this kind of international collaboration that enables science and research to deliver solutions to today’s challenges. I am very pleased that we will be able to welcome such a leading medical convention as the Annual Congress of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, along with numerous researchers, this year.”

“The new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg is a leading-edge, flexible, sustainable and barrier-free venue that provides an excellent environment for major medical conventions, such as the international congress of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, to share thoughts and transfer know-how,” said Heike Mahmoud, Chief Operating Officer of the CCH. “A heartfelt welcome to the participants of the EAACI ‘– the CCH will serve as your platform for discussing forward-looking, innovative topics in June 2023.”

Michael Otremba, Managing Director Hamburg Tourist Board: “Moin and welcome to Hamburg EAACI. Hamburg specifically applied for this congress, as we are hoping for a transfer of knowledge in the field of allergology for the relevant experts from the region and for Germany, in addition to the economic effects. The fact that we are now able to host this congress shows that Hamburg is positioning itself very clearly and positively in competition with other important metropolises in the conference and congress sector.”
