Gothenburg returns to IBTM World 2024 as the only Swedish destination. At the Gothenburg stand, experience a piece of Sweden’s unique West Coast, where sustainability and innovation are at the centre.
Gothenburg is known for its welcoming atmosphere, innovation, and commitment to sustainability. It’s not just a top destination, it’s also a leading research hub with the infrastructure to support sustainable choices.
“IBTM World is one of the most important events of the year. It is where we expand our network and create future business opportunities. That is why Gothenburg is exhibiting independently with a stand that captures the spirit of the iconic red cabins of the Swedish west coast,” says Annika Hallman, director of the Gothenburg Convention Bureau.
The destination’s investment in IBTM World is made in collaboration with the association for large hotels and venues in Gothenburg, which will also be represented in the stand.
Gothenburg has received several awards as a destination that has made great strides in sustainable meetings and events. At IBTM World 2024, they want to contribute to a more sustainable meetings industry. All destinations or exhibitors interested in increasing their sustainability work can book a free consultation with Gothenburg’s sustainability expert, Katarina Thorstensson, on Tuesday or Wednesday. The stand conveys a feeling of the West Swedish archipelago and is entirely made of recycled material. To minimise transportation, it is being built onsite by a local partner.
Gothenburg can be found at stand G25, which also includes Scandic Hotels, Strawberry, Elite Hotels, Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre, Gothia Towers, and Radisson Blu.
