ICCA and the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) have renewed their memorandum of understanding (MOU), reaffirming their commitment to collaborate and strengthen engagement within the international association meetings sector. Building on a strong foundation of partnership, the two organisations will continue working together to expand opportunities, develop impactful educational resources, and foster a supportive global network to address the evolving challenges facing associations today.
The organisations will also work together to focus on content, learning experiences, and initiatives that resonate with the global business events community and association members, and collaborate to align on mutual strategic goals.
Several areas of focus are outlined, including supporting global associations as they navigate geopolitical situations, dealing with generational shifts and how this affects the industry’s workforce, and pertinent topics like AI, inclusivity, and talent strategies. Associations must address these pressing issues to remain relevant to their members.
The agreement also stipulates that the two organisations will develop shared content, exploring possibilities for joint publications, research reports, and educational materials that can be distributed across both organisations’ channels, strengthening resource accessibility for members.
ICCA CEO Dr. Senthil Gopinath says: “Our partnership with ASAE demonstrates ICCA’s continued commitment to building relationships with leadership organisations such as ASAE, as we work together to support joint educational and logistical goals. This agreement is a strong milestone on our journey toward providing the best resources for our American members and all regional business events professionals.”
The partnership between ICCA and ASAE also includes membership and event registration exchanges, which aim to encourage collaboration and connection among the two groups’ membership communities.
ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE, says: “ASAE’s collaboration with ICCA reflects a shared commitment to fostering a truly global association community. By combining our strengths, we can cocreate resources, share knowledge, and support our members in navigating our sector’s complex challenges, from geopolitical shifts to workforce evolution and emerging technologies. We look forward to working together to deliver meaningful value to the international business events ecosystem.”
