Antwerp will host the 2025 Sleep and Breathing Conference from 10 to 12 April. This biennial event, jointly organised by the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the European Sleep Research Society (ESRS), is the largest pan-European meeting dedicated to sleep and respiratory medicine.
The conference will convene healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the latest advancements in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders. Attendees can engage in a comprehensive program featuring keynote lectures, interactive workshops, and scientific exhibitions.
Antwerp’s selection as the host city underscores its reputation as a premier destination for health and medical events. With a robust healthcare infrastructure, including the University of Antwerp and leading research institutions, the city provides an ideal environment for fostering collaboration and innovation in medical science.
“We are delighted to welcome the Sleep and Breathing Conference to Antwerp,” said Tadeja Pivc Coudyser, CEO of the Antwerp Convention Bureau. “Our city’s commitment to advancing healthcare and state-of-the-art facilities makes Antwerp the perfect venue for this significant sleep and respiratory professionals gathering.”
“Antwerp is not only a city with a vibrant cultural and historical identity but also a centre of excellence in medical research and clinical practice,” adds Professor Johan Verbraecken, masterclass organiser and local host of the 2025 Sleep and Breathing Conference. “With institutions like the Antwerp University Hospital and the University of Antwerp driving innovation in sleep and respiratory care, the city offers a uniquely fertile ground for meaningful scientific exchange. This conference thrives on the strength of our local expertise and collaborative spirit, ensuring that the dialogue we spark continues to advance global standards in sleep medicine.”
In Antwerp, where the whole city is your venue, the conference experience goes beyond the walls of traditional venues. The city becomes an extension of the event, offering delegates an inspiring and immersive setting that makes the entire stay more engaging, meaningful, and memorable. Antwerp transforms into a stage for connection and discovery, from historic streets to dynamic neighbourhoods, ensuring that the event’s impact extends well beyond the meeting rooms.
