SAS Scandinavian Airlines is to introduce a new long-haul route linking Copenhagen and Dubai – the first time the carrier has flown to Dubai in 15 years. The airline will launch daily services between Copenhagen and Dubai World Central Airport from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027.
SAS said in a statement that resuming Dubai flights for the first time since 2011 marked “a significant milestone” for its long-haul network. The airline will compete with Emirates on the Copenhagen–Dubai route, which currently operates a daily service.
Paul Verhagen, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at SAS, added: “Re-establishing our presence in Dubai allows us to offer our customers direct access to one of the world’s most exciting cities.”
SAS has also announced two new leisure-focused long-haul routes from Copenhagen to the Thai cities of Phuket and Krabi, which will operate two to three times per week between December 2026 and March 2027, with both routes served by Airbus A350 aircraft.
The delivery of two new Airbus A350s will allow SAS to increase seat capacity on transatlantic routes from Copenhagen to Boston, San Francisco and Chicago next winter. SAS will increase capacity on services to Seoul, Tokyo Haneda and Bangkok for winter 2026–2027.
